Invented by a Mom for the Picky Eater
Sometimes the best inventions come from necessity. Founder Nancy Yen came up with the idea for a hot and cold bento box when her son started kindergarten. He had a hard time eating lunch at school and was often hungry and cranky when packing. Realizing he preferred hot appetizers to sandwiches, she began to think of a kid-friendly bento box concept that would include a hot entree, fruits, and vegetables all in one place.
Double Insulation Technology
The OmieBox uses two types of insulation to keep hot and cold food together. At the heart of the design is a powerful vacuum insulated thermos. The two walls are made of stainless steel and air is drawn in between so heat can’t escape. Perfect for hot lunches, it can keep food hot for up to 6 hours. Food is kept cool thanks to the OmieBox’s double-walled, air-insulated tray. Air is a great insulator (think Styrofoam or double-pane windows – both use air insulation).
